Books That Really Should Be Made Into Movies

Anna and the French Kiss Anna and French Kiss By Stephanie Perkins

This book was indescribable. You all SHOULD know so no synopsis detail, kay? I swear this book deepened my faith in YA. Stephanie Perkins also joined the very exclusive Hira's Favourite Authors List. Very exclusive indeed. Anyway, the casting of this would be very hard. I mean, it'd surely become one of the best chick-lits of all time  so that why the cast has to be the BEST. Etienne has to be, like the fake-guy-of-my-dream, so no guy over 30 should be playing him.

The Fallen Star (Fallen Star, #1)
The Fallen Star By Jessica Sorensen

The only reason I want a movie to be made for this is because I want a real life Alex. No needed explanation. Wait. Also because I like the main girl. Reminds me of me. That's it.

they ever make film, they better not mess it up. Yes, that was a threat.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1)

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

                                                                    **********************

Why can't all books be like this one? Why can't they all have a great story with kick-ass characters?
Why can't the main character just be smart and not make stupid decisions that makes me wish that she was real so I could slap her?  Why can't the relationship between the guys in other books make you wish it'd happen to you?
Yeah, these were the type of questions that raced trough my mind when I was reading this book.

This book has it all Ladies and Gentleman. As stated about it has great characters, a great story and great...everything else. Not that it didn't have flaws. Every book has flaws and this one made quite the list. Let's start shall we.

List of Good Things About This Book:
  • The Girl a.k.a Main Character. We've all experienced this folks. We've met with idiots who've ruined it for us but we've also met some who made it for us . Katy was the one for me. She wasn't the girl who made stupid decisions. All her decisions had a purpose. She didn't chase after the guy and when he blew her off, she blew him off. FINALLY. In your face Bella Swan! * takes deep breath*
  • The Guy a.k.a Tortured-gorgeous-hero-who's-secretly-nice. We've all met a handful but there is one thing about him that sticks out. He's mean. Not mean as in he-took-my-lollipop but mean as in I-need-to-dump-my-lunch-over-his-head type of mean. I got so frustrated at time that I wished I could say a few things to him because his level of mean kept increasing. Actually mean doesn't describe him. It can't compare. More like....I won't say it. No cursing aloud. Ha! Anyway, mean did blend in with his overall hotness. God, he could have fried an egg on his abs that how hot Jennifer made him. I just...I can't...Just read it.
  • The Story a.k.a the story. It doesn't have vamps ( *jumps up in excitement*) It has...aliens. Take that anyway you want but give it a chance is all I have to say.
List of Bad Things About This Books:
  • The Twilight-Vibe it gives off. It did to me anyway. Sometime what happened was that when I was reading it I was hit with this horrible feeling that I was reliving a nightmare a.k.a Twilight and had to got back and look at the cover to make sure I was reading the right one. Katy didn't live on Hot-Guy but her thoughts were always consumed by him.   Then there was the fact that all the Aliens were perfect-gorgeous-looking 'beings' a.k.a The Cullens. The fact that Hot-guy is mean to her also made me think this but I'd multiply Edward's mean by 10 and then you'd have Hot-guys mean. If that makes an sense whatsoever.  There were other thing but I'm too lazy to think of them right now. Just read it. You might understand.
  • The Hot-Guy's Mean. He might have gone overboard at times and you might get tired of his and Katy's constant bickering. But you might just enjoy that bickering too.
Now you're gonna say, this girl is giving off mixed vibes so why did she give this book 5 stars.
Well, probably because of Jennifer's writing and her brilliant books. Maybe also because she took a new approach and got rid of other supernatural things. Maybe because I might have a little...obsession over.....doesn't matter. Just Read it. Oh yeah, Comment aswell!

So Much To do, So Little Time...

Hello! How nice to see you! Would you like a cup of tea? Biscuits?
Wow...My introductions are getting lamer. I'm trying to lure you all in with my humorous and sarcastic wit but it's not my fault that I lack in the 'humor' side of things is it?
Anyways, moving on, I'm going to be using this post to clear up a few things and mke a few announcements so lets get a move on.

First of all, if you are reading this right now then, thank you, because nobody knows how grateful I feel. I'm a newbie in the area of blogging so alot of things I do and say are going to be shit. The blog need work done on and I need to post more but I feel that gradually, and I do mean GRADUALLY, things will get better.

Second, my sister said to me last night that nobody seems to read this blog. I made her re-think that by telling her about all the bloggers out there who, after alot of work and time, finally made a place for themselves in this World Wide Web. So that's what I'm gonna do. Work hard and take as much time as I want. Although, If you guys keep coming back here, then I'll feel a tiny bit better.

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1)

**spoiler alert** okay seriously what can I say. Kelley Armstrong has outdone herself. I'm gonna be truthful here. The only reason I first thought I should read this book was because of the cover. That cover is going one my Best Covers list. Anyway this is a story about Chloe Saunder who can see and raise ghosts. but of course nobody believes her and on her aunt's recommendation she is sent to Lyle House. To Chloe it's a house for Mental people but what she doesn't know is that it is far from that. She meets her other house-mates aka Simon,Derek,Liz,Tori and Rae. They show her that she is not mental like she is being told but actually she has a supernatural ability. The kids also realize that Lyle house is not as safe as it seem when they figure out that Liz, their friend, has been murdered. They plan to escape but a few crazy things happens. number 1- Chloe sees Derek change into a werewolf ( not a pretty sight) and the "doctors" of Lyle house come out with guns and try to shoot them when they try to escape.
Unfortunately what happens is Chloe gets injured and Cloe and Rae got to her aunts house knowing that her aunt is a doctor. Aunt take them to a secret place, a place where the "DOCTORS" are, chloe finds out that her aunt is involved with these psychopaths and Chloe's trust is broken in half. End of The Summoning. seriously people, READ THIS BOOK. if u want that is :)

Bloodlines By Michelle Read

Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1)

Richelle Mead is a prime example of an authors who can easily combine Paranormal + Romance + Fantasy and kick-ass action. I'm not going to bother with the synopsis as you can all read that yourselves. Anyway, I'd say this was a good start to a new...story. Sometimes the first book does it for you and gets you hooked and sometimes it doesn't but I'd say Mead hit the spot.

I like Sydney. No, really. Mostly these fictional girls don't click with me but she kinda reminded me of myself. Okay, maybe I'm not as uptight as her and I do mess around etc. and OF COURSE I wouldn't be dense enough to not notice this not-really-horrible-guy in front of me but she used her head and wasn't all about the hands on violence.
The other character were...meh. Except, of course, Adrian. He was the light that shined through the book for me. Okay, the line before this one makes no sense but what can you do? Moving on, I just loved Adrian. He's that cocky guy who has sense but is still tortured in some kind of way. So he's the cocky-street-smart-tortured-hero-with-a-killer-smile-guy.

The story was okay. Yes, okay. And Jill annoyed me. So did someone else but I forgot his name. And, Yeah. Go read this book if this lame review hasn't awakened your inner Adrian-killer-smile senses. Much Love. Hira

Saving June By Hannah Harrington

Saving June

See, there is one thing I will never read. Super-sad-tragedy-type-books. I hate them. I hate the feelings they make you have. I HATE the fact that they don't have a HAPPY EVER AFTER. That doesn't mean I'm not a realist. I am. It's just that life is real enough and for me, books are chance to break free from all that and go into a world where everything works out fine and there is a happy ever after.

What is with all the Aussi authors this year? They seem to be bombarding the world of literature with their-well-thought-out books and VERY interesting characters. Such examples, Melina Marchetta, creator of On the Jellicoe Road and JONAH-ROCK-HARD-BUT-KINDA-SOFT GRIGGS. Need I say more?

Back to the book. This book is, yes, dealing with an important issue in the world today, SUICIDE. This'd put me off immediately but there was something different about this. The synopsis caught my attention because a) the girl seemed very much like me ( skeptical and very humorous- don't ask me how I got all that from a synopsis) and b) ROAD TRIP! Road trips are my favorite, especially when it's to California and you are joined by a very bad-boy-with-a-musical-obsession and an even-crazier-best-friend-who's-the-polar-opposite-of-you. I mean, What could go wrong? Haha, what am I SAYING. Everything goes wrong.

When June dies, Harper is thrown into a world of fake sympathies and overbearing responsibilities. Her parents are goners, off in their own world and nobody seems to understand Harper pain and desperation. Enter Jake Tolan. With is body dripping with bad boy Charisma, oozing with passion for music and combined with a generous amount of making-you-snort-humor, who's gonna stop you from making a trip across the country with him? This book is filled with curl-up-your toes-romance but it's not the whole love-at-first-sight. I HATE THAT! As romantic and all as it is, it doesn't feel real to me. This book is using realistic romance. The boy and girl form a cautionary friendship, meaning they are weary of each other as each one is hiding their own secrets but is not at the stage to tell each other yet. They'll become close with secret talks, secret glances with a hint of jealousy and finally, scenes not suitable of young children( haha).

But Romance is not the biggest part. Harper discovering why her sister did the big S and the reason behind it. She'll discover and reconnect with her family who she was hiding from and who were, in her mind, ignoring her. The book is packed with drama and doesn't only focus on her. Her family, best friend, and of course Jake, all have secrets some which'll effect her aswell.

If you want something that covers all the areas of a good book and is REALISTIC then, this is the book for you.

Happy Reading!

Anna and the French Kiss
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.

As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?

Okay. The first half of my review will be in honor of St.Claire. Here I go.
