Avalon High By Meg Cabot

Avalon High

To newcomer Ellie, Avalon High seems like a typical American high school, complete with jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, and even the obligatory senior class president, quarterback, and all-around good guy. But it doesn't take Ellie long to suspect that something weird is going on beneath the glossy surface of this tranquil hall of learning. As she pieces together the meaning of this unfolding drama, she begins to recognize some haunting Arthurian echoes, causing her to worry that she has become just a pawn in mythic history. A powerful novel by the author of The Princess Diaries.

I read this book during my 'Meg Cabot' phase. I swear, I think I've read nearly all of her YA books. Even Non-YA. Anyway, because I loved Princess Diaries so much, I knew I'd love this too.
I was right.

At the start we are introduced to Ellie, the new girl in town. She has history-crazed parents who are more than enough to handle. All she needs is any more trouble. Enter Will. All round perfect 'popular' boy. But the thing is, he deserves all the fame he gets. He's a proper good hearted person who isn't just liked for his looks but for his personality and actions aswell.  So now, if you combine Ellie, Will, secretive best friends, an evil step-brother and a hit of King Arthur, you get Avalon High.

I liked Ellie. She was funny and I liked reading her thoughts. I liked how she's always helps others even though, clearly, it wasn't any of her business. She was a secret friend to Will, who clearly had issues and soon that led to a few sparks. Good ones that is. Hehe.
Will is just...like every other of Cabot's main leads. *insert every good word there is here*
He has issues, believe me, but is good how he doesn't let them get him down.
The secondary character were bearable but I had a soft spot for her parents.

Finally, I think alot of you know about the shitty Disney Channel movie version of this book. Wow, was it bad or what? Why change the whole story around? When was Marcus (Will's Bro) secretly good? When was the professor evil? Seriously, I need to breathe.

So, overall, I give this book:

5 Stars!
